Plaese Vocabulary Exercises

- learn the English names of places around town. Practice asking about where people are and using 'at' for location, 'They are at the library.' There are some online spelling games, conversation practice exercises and grammar acitivites as well.

This game focuses on places vocabulary with four main sections, vocabulary building, spelling, listening and grammar. You can pick and choose which section to focus on or try them all. The question and answer activities are associated with the MES Curriculum - Unit 8.

The questions and answers for this game are as follows.

  • A: Where are they?
  • B: They're at the park.
  • A: Are they at the airport?
  • B: Yes, they are./No, they're not.

Other notes:

  • The grammar exercises focus heavily on useing the preposition, 'at', with location and using the third person plural form of 'be'.
  • The grammar games also require the students to be able to make yes/no questions with 'be' and use the short answer, 'Yes, they are.'/'No, they're not.'.
  • The spelling section will take the root noun or the noun with an article. Students can use either 'a'/'an' or 'the', for example - 'train station', 'a train station', or 'the train station'.
