Adjectives vocabulary game

, spelling and question and answer activities to learn proper use of adjectives as subject complements. Practice vocabulary, spelling, questions and answers, as well a grammar with these fun games and activities.

This game focuses on using adjectives as subject complements through 4 different areas. There is an adjectives vocabulary builder and some activities to solidify spelling. Another section has question and answer activities for students to learn how to use the adjectives as complements. The question and answer games and grammar games are associated with the ESL Young Learners Curriculum - Unit 4.

The basic structure for the grammar, question and answer sections are:

  • A: Tell me about this.
  • B: It's little.
  • A: Is this fast?
  • B: Yes, it is./No, it's not.

Other notes:

  • In the grammar section, students will learn to use adjectives as subject complements. The activities for this game use "be" in the singular, but does have examples using "this/that/it" and "he"
  • It would be good to make sure students know how to use "he" vs. "it". You could also explain as the students play through the activities.
  • For a full list of the vocabulary for this game, see the flashcard link below in the teaching materials sections.
